Instagram: A Celebrity-infested New Media Platform, Privacy, Business Tax Dodge & Breathtaking Photography.
Instagram is arguably one of the hottest new media sites out there. From everyday people to celebrities, the social media giant has come to attract over 800 million users globally. So it goes without saying, that from a business perspective, it presents a huge platform for its most famous users. With this open platform comes with huge business opportunities and therein lies the privacy concerns of users' images/photographs. The resulting lack of disclosure of earnings by these users from the site invites Uncle Sam knocking. It's an interesting interplay of a social media site that boasts the best photography anywhere and what has caught the attention of the IRS to rein in those dodging their tax obligations.

Instagram much like any other social media platform can be just another milestone for another platform. ReplyDeleteAssata, exactly. And with that many eyes, a simple mistake can turn out to be not so small, with the effect potentially long-lasting.
